before taxes, minimum wage still only results in about $1,100 a month at full time. even if you have $800 rent, that leaves you with, at most, $300 a month to work with for food, electricity, water, transportation, phone. not to mention anything to do with medical needs or car insurance or any of that other shit. still not enough.
rising housing prices have nothing to do with taxes or tax laws. they go up because they can. housing investors buy up real estate en-masse and drive up rent and drive up purchasing prices in lockstep with their competitors… because they can. because it makes them more money.
